Cat O' Lantern
You guys, check out the sweet Hello Kitty jack o' lantern I carved last night!
I wasn't planning on carving a pumpkin this year, but once I got wind of this idea over on Hello Kitty Hell I knew I couldn't pass it up. It turned out a lot better than I expected, seeing as the directions given on the Sanrio newsletter were pretty spartan. I had to guess as to where I wanted the face to stay connected. I chose the bottom as one contact area, not realizing it would look like her neck. That's why she's got a huge head perched on a spaghetti neck.
My only concern now is this mild Indian Summer we've got going in the Bay Area. I hope she doesn't mold or collapse before Halloween. Or maybe I do--Zombie Kitty!
More pictures of Kitty pumpkin madness over on my Flickr stream.

This is straight up gangster.
But seriously, Zombie Kitty for the win.
PS, your interpol picture looks like a scene out of daft punk. Aka: amazing.

Dude, it's so going to go funky before Halloween. In my experience, generally speaking, you get about three days of jack o'lantern goodness before they start to go soft.

Yeah, the jack o' lantern started to mold after about 4 days and on day 6 the face caved in entirely. Gah.
Still, I'm very excited with how it turned out and it was a lot of fun to make.
Good luck with your pumpkin, Adrian!
